Wellbeing Fun Day
Spencer Park
Saturday 29th June 11am - 3pm
We would like to invite the community to Spencer Park to join us with a range of FREE activities, suitable for the entire family. We have a host of well-being practitioners and complimentary therapists offering free taster classes and treatments, all designed to balance your mind, enhance mental clarity and give you a greater sense of well-being. All with the added benefit of socialising, bringing the community together and chatting with a cuppa and a slice of cake.

In the Wellbeing Field (the old bowling green) you will be able to participate in some short free taster sessions led by local wellness practitioners. You can join us for 20 minutes of relaxing DRU yoga, chair yoga or try more invigorating Hatha style. If yoga is not your thing you can have a go at mindful and slow movements of Tai Chi or lay down for a deeply relaxing guided Nidra meditation.

If you like using essential oils in your everyday life, there will be an aromatherapy practitioner to chat to and ask about any tips how to incorporate beautiful essential oils into your daily routine and what benefits can you experience from daily use.

We will also have some more hands on complimentary therapy practitioners where you can experience a taster of Qi balancing or melt away any tension with an Indian head massage. Perhaps you’re curious about Reiki and want to find out what it's all about and experience it for yourself. All of our practitioners will be on hand to answer any questions and explain how all these wonderful therapies can benefit you.
There will be mindful activities for children to get involved in. We have a local artist leading a portrait drawing activity, giving tips on how to sketch your portrait and make it looking professional.

On the day there will be a couple of charities and you can try a free Nordic Walking session too! It turns a normal walk into a workout, building muscle strength and improving balance. It’s a great exercise for everyone even people new to exercise or living with long term conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease. Poles will be provided.

Adults or youngsters will be able to have a go at bowling on the flat bowling green or have a go at tennis. Rackets will be provided or if you fancy, bring your own.

Refreshment will be provided by Pavilion’s Cafe, where you can indulge in wonderful homemade cakes, samosas, small snacks, hot or cold drinks and ice cream – for a small cost.

All activities are suitable for complete beginners but even anyone more advanced will enjoy or try something new.

We are all looking forward welcoming you all, having a lovely day come rain or shine, building stronger community ties, helping each other and promoting well-being across all generations.
