Digital photography Course for Beginners

6 weeks course

starting Friday 19th April - 24th May 2024

This 6 weeks course is designed for beginners who would like to get to know their camera better , explore various settings, learn about effective composition and  how to use a light to produce professionaly looking images. The course is also suitable for keen photographers who have been using a camera for a while but not to the full potential and mainly use the presets modes.

 

After the course you will be confident to use your camera on full manual setting and you will be able to deal with any difficult light situation.

You will learn about how aperture works and determines depth of fields in your images. You will test various settings of shutter speed and experience the effect of capturing a moving subject. You will apply ISO and white balance correctly to enhance your images and get to know what is the best lighting for successful images. You will discover how in camera lightmeter works and how to compose  an eye pleasing composition. In the last part  you will learn how  to edit your images for the best printing outcome and presentation.

 

Places are limited to 12 students only for more personal approach and with plenty of time to practise and ask questions.

Photography Workshop

Saturday 09.6.2018 at 12-1:45pm + 2:00-3:00pm in old Coventry Evening Telegraph Building (CET), Corporation Street, Coventry, CV1 1FP

In the workshop we will try to move to fully manual mode and explain how aperture, shutter speed and ISO work. We will explore the metering mode of the camera and talk about creative composition.

The session will be packed full of useful tips and ideas how to improve your images and get creative. Then you can join me for 1 hour of exploration of the CET building using the new skills you learnt. Please let me know if you would like to attend the workshop as places are limited. Night Light Photography workshops October & December 2017

The workshops are an intro to aperture, shutter speed and  ISO, and how they all affect a final result in your images. The sessions are packed full of useful tips and ideas how to improve your images and get creative. Then we practice on a location. Workshops are usualy 3 hrs long and no more than 12 people. 

Studio Portraiture Workshop February 2018

The workshop is held in one of a Coventry studios and takes usually around 4 hours. Students get full use of a studio and lighting. Demo for various effect portraits is given and opportunity for everybody to try different set ups. Maximum 10 people for a studio workshops.

Free Photography Workshop

This workshop will introduce you to all aspects of studio photography with focus on portraiture and how a choice of lighting affects the final result of your images.
